I’m not sure if “Retail” design falls under hospitality or not, but good design is good design. And I love RK Apothecary in Santa Monica designed by LADG (Los Angeles Design Group). Technically an apothecary was traditionally a place for medicinal type products, but these days the word is used loosely as a cool term, in this case, bath and body products. Regardless, the design really carefully considers display in terms of visual appeal and human interaction. Faced with a tight space, the designers used internally lit pods in irregular shapes to allow customers to move about easily and interact with the product. The double height volume is also handled great, with hanging displays and lights that add to the ambience.
