The new 100 room Z Hotel in Queens New York is set to open next week. The design was developed with the intent for the guest to feel as though they are “part” of the city landscape, which is evident in the phenomenal views of downtown Manhattan just one subway station away. To that extent, I think the design is successful in creating an urban feel, with hints at tough & gritty elements, such as the mason jars hanging over the bed, the graphiti inspired logo & murals. But at the same time, there is a luxurious feeling to the place.
