Bergdorf Goodmans Holiday 2011

It’s that time of year again when New York City retailers compete for best holiday window display. Almost always, Bergdorf Goodmans has extravagant, fashion forward and over the top fantasy filled windows to drool over. Here are 5 from this year’s display.

Can I Live Here?

I admit, if I ever had a custom home to design, I probably wouldn’t design it completely myself. I’d let uber talented Toronto design firm Cecconi Simone design it for me. Take this model home they designed in a community called Trinity Bellwoods. It’s everything I love. Clean and contemporary, and a little masculine with lots of white and glass. But also warmed up with touches of walnut wood and bright yellow accents.

Ouch, That’s A Statement Piece!

Sunburst mirrors have been popular for a while now. But this mirror, called “Guilt” by Koket takes it to the next level! I love the dramatic effect this could have on a large wall. It really would be all you need! The Guilt mirror is available in both 50” and 63” diameter, and can be made in matte gold, silver, or copper metal.

A Vancouver Tradition Restored

Rosewood hotel georgia vancouver interior design restoration historic contemporary

Vancouver doesn’t have a lot of older, historic buildings relative to the amount of all glass skyscrapers. So it’s rare and delightful to find a piece of Vancouver’s history, The Georgia Hotel built originally in 1927, has been lovingly restored and re-designed by Toronto firm Munge Leung.

The lobby is rich with wood paneling and decorative details of the period. Furnishings more suitable to today’s lifestyle are a modern take on the classics.
